Australia’s Largest Rollout of Solar Power in Remote Communities

Construction is now complete on the Solar Energy Transformation Program (SETuP).

SETuP is a $59 million program co-funded by the Territory Government and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).

Through the program Power and Water Corporation has delivered 10 MW of solar systems across 25 remote communities providing up to 15% in diesel savings in these communities. The program has also seen the installation of a large battery energy storage system at Nauiyu (Daly River). The systems installed at Nauiyu should result in a 50% reduction in diesel fuel use for power generation in the Community.
